COPPULL
........ or Cophulle or Crophull or Crophill meaning "a cropped hill" or a "hill rising to a peak".

 A village about 300 feet above sea level, bounded by Whittle Brook, Clancutt Brook, River Yarrow, Eller Brook, and a rare stream, flowing away from the sea towards the Pennines, with three names, Backow Brook, Hic-Bibi Brook and Stars Brook.
